31st Inter School Karate set to kick off in city next month

Shillong, June 23: The spirit of martial arts and youth competition is set to take centre stage as the All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association (AMKA) officially announced the dates for the 31st Inter School Karate Tournament 2025.
The much-anticipated event will be held from July 24 to July 26, 2025, at the M.P. Indoor Hall, SAI Campus, NEHU, Shillong.
Organised with the active support of the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Meghalaya, the tournament promises to be a high-energy showcase of talent, discipline, and sportsmanship among schoolchildren across the state.
In a press release issued on Monday, Ksan Kupar Warjri, General Secretary of AMKA, extended a warm invitation to schools across Meghalaya to participate in the tournament.
Entry forms must be submitted no later than July 12, 2025, and interested schools are encouraged to register at the earliest to ensure their spot in the competition.
The tournament will bring together young karatekas from diverse backgrounds and institutions, promoting not only physical excellence but also the values of perseverance, respect, and unity.
The annual event has grown into a vital platform for identifying emerging talent and fostering a culture of healthy competition among students.
Affiliated with the Karate India Organisation (KIO) and recognised by prestigious international bodies such as the World Karate Federation (WKF) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), AMKA has long been at the forefront of promoting karate in the region. It is also recognised by the Meghalaya State Olympic Association and the State Sports Council of Meghalaya, giving the tournament both credibility and official backing.
