MSCPCR launches revamped website

SHILLONG, June 27: The Meghalaya State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) formally launched the revamped website of the Commission for the ease of use for general public and to foster awareness of the child rights body besides improving the connection with the public at large.
The launch, held on June 24, coincided with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the creation of a portal to track the cases  of crimes against children and by children as per the Juvenile Justice Act, 2005. The MoU was signed between the MSCPCR and the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Meghalaya.
The revamped website was launched by Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh in the presence of Commission’s Chairman Agatha K Sangma and Chairperson of Meghalaya State Commission for Women.
During the event, the Social Welfare Minister highlighted the recent surge of crimes against children and by children, while also highlighting the work done by the Police department in cracking several cases related to child protection. He also underlined the government’s commitment to ensure the protection of child rights in the state.
