Dhaka, July 1:The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to officially confirm India’s scheduled white-ball tour of Bangladesh in August, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan has revealed.
Speaking to the media in Dhaka after a marathon six-hour board meeting, Hassan said that while discussions with the Indian board have been “positive,” the final green light hinges on clearances from the Indian government.“I have already spoken to the BCCI. Discussions have been positive,” Hassan stated. “The series is scheduled for next month, but they are awaiting some decisions from their government. We remain hopeful.”India are slated to play three One Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals on the tour. According to the BCB’s previously announced schedule, the ODIs are planned for August 17, 20, and 23, followed by the T20Is on August 26, 29, and 31 — with matches expected to be played in Mirpur and Chattogram. While no specific reason has been cited for the delay in confirmation, the BCCI has reportedly assured the BCB that India will fulfil the tour during the next available window if August is not feasible.
