Refused money for alcohol, UP man stabs wife
AZAMGARH, (UP) July 7: A labourer allegedly stabbed his 40-year-old wife to death on Monday here in Anjanshaheed village after she refused to give him money to buy alcohol, police said.According to police, Nure Alam, who works as a labourer in Mumbai, had returned to his village four days ago to observe Muharram.Around noon on Monday, he asked his wife Roshan for money to buy liquor. When she refused, the couple got into a heated argument, and in a fit of rage, Nure allegedly stabbed her with a kitchen knife in the chest.Roshan was rushed to a hospital by the locals, but doctors declared her dead on arrival, police said.To much shock of the villagers, Nure Alam roamed around the village after killing his wife.Jiyanpur police took Nure Alam and Roshan’s body into custody.Neighbours told police that Nure Alam was addicted to alcohol and would often beat his wife. 18 Bangladeshis among 29 illegal foreigners living in Delhi held
NEW DELHI, July 7: Twenty-nine foreign nationals, including 18 Bangladeshi, staying illegally in the country were apprehended from southwest Delhi’s Dwarka, officials said on Monday.The deportation orders of the detained individuals have been issued, they said.Of the total, 18 are Bangladeshi nationals, four from Ivory Coast, three from Nigeria, two from Liberia, and one each from Tanzania and Benin, they said.All of the foreign nationals were found overstaying or residing illegally in the country. After being arrested, they were handed over to the FRRO for deportation, a senior police officer said. (PTI)
Boy escaping from dog dies after falling off 6th floor window
NAGPUR, July 7: A 12-year-old boy fell to his death from the sixth floor of his residential complex in Nagpur after getting scared by a barking dog on the stairs, a police official said on Monday.The incident took place in Dev Heights in Pawangaon area at 4pm on Sunday police said.“Jayesh Ravindra Bokde was climbing the stairs with his friend. A stray dog began barking at him, causing him to panic and run, during which he fell from a window near the staircase landing on the sixth floor. He was declared dead on arrival by doctors at a nearby hospital,” the official said.A case of accidental death was registered and further probe is underway, he added. (PTI)
