SHILLONG, July 12: To inspire and encourage youths in academics and other fields, Seng Samla Mawlai Pyllun on Saturday organised the Academic and Exceptional Talents Personality Award 2025 at Polytechnic Mawlai.
A total of 43 students were felicitated for their outstanding performance in the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations, while 22 young achievers were recognised for their excellence in sports and other unique talents.
The event also honoured Bibisha Kharnaior of Mawlai Mawiong Umjapung for nearly 40 years of dedicated service in sanitation at Marten.
The programme was attended by South West Khasi Hills ADC and former president of Seng Samla Mawlai Pyllun Labiang Tariang as the chief guest, while president of Mawlai Town Dorbar Herlambok War attended the same as the guest of honour.
Others who were part of the programme include students, parents and community members.
