Tura, July 24: Several organizations from South West Garo Hills on Friday raised concern over the alleged illegal settlement of Bangladeshi nationals at several locations in the district while at the same time seeking action from authorities on the matter.

In their complaint to the South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, the combined groups including the Civil Society A’chik Welfare Organization, A’chik Progressive Approach and the AAYF informed that the alleged illegal settlement is taking place in places like Isaguri, Mirjumla, Mahendraganj and Kalaichar areas.

Pointing out that the illegal settlement would pose difficulties for the local people in future, the groups urged the official to take necessary action and ensure the protection of land belonging to the state.
