Treemmi Lamare (28) has been awarded PhD in Political Science by North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, for his thesis ‘Emergence of the National People’s Party and its Role in Meghalaya Politics,’ which he completed under the supervision of Prof K Debbarma. In addition to his doctoral research, he has published extensively on political parties, autonomous councils, and governance in the Northeast. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at North East Adventist University, Thadlaskein, and Kiang Nangbah Government College, Jowai. He is the son of Dongmi Lakadong and Greeksleyword Lamare, hailing from Shilliang Myntang village, and currently residing in Mihmyntdu, Jowai.
Nirmala Akoijam has been awarded PhD by North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, for her research work on ‘Characterization of arsenic tolerant bacterial populations from paddy fields of North-East India and their bioremediation potential,’ which she completed under the supervision of Prof SR Joshi, Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, NEHU, Shillong. She is the daughter of Akoijam Achouba Singh and Wairokpam Geeta Devi of Beltola, Guwahati.
