SHILLONG, July 25: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong has confirmed that an inquiry into allegations of malpractices and use of unfair means during police recruitment examinations in Meghalaya has found no truth in the claims.
The Meghalaya police have initiated an inquiry into the alleged malpractices and unfair means during the recruitment examinations held in various districts.
Tynsong stated that the written exams have been completed and the compilation of results is under way. The number of candidates ranges between 36,000 and 37,000.
Meanwhile, talking about the second phase of border talks with Assam, Tynsong said the state was awaiting communication from its counterpart in Assam.
He also attributed the delay to the upcoming Assam Assembly elections due next year.
