Addressing thousands of the fresh batch of students, Bimal Bora said, “As you step into this exciting academic journey, fuel your motivation with curiosity and purpose, let your values guide every decision, embrace the entrepreneurial spirit of innovation and resilience, and stand tall with independence and unwavering confidence.”

He shared moments from his own student life to inspire the gathering. Shri Bora emphasized discipline, hard work, values, and focus as the stepping stones to guide the students toward excellence. He also commended the university for providing an inclusive and resource-rich learning environment, according to a Press release.

In his address to the new batch of students, Dr AK Pansari, Chancellor of RGU urged them to develop a deep sense of sensitivity towards society—be it humans, animals, the underprivileged or the specially-abled. Dr. Pansari called upon the youth to contribute towards restoring India’s lost glory, particularly in these challenging times when global peace is under threat. He also underscored the importance of holistic development for becoming responsible and compassionate individuals.

“In today’s rapidly changing world, a degree is merely a license—it is your attitude, innovation, and ability to think out of the box that will truly set you apart. Utilize every moment in the best way. The real issue is not lack of time, but lack of direction and interest—we all have the same twenty-four hours,” the Chancellor added.

Prof. (Dr.) Alak K. Buragohain, Vice Chancellor, RGU, extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to the newly admitted students, urging them to fully embrace the transformative journey of academic pursuit and personal development that lies ahead. He emphasized the critical importance of cultivating a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus culture where every individual feels valued and empowered.
