Revised on-street parking fees to come into effect from Aug 18

SHILLONG, Aug 4: The state government has decided to amend the on-street parking fee structure for the Greater Shillong Planning Area. The revised fees will come into effect from August 18 and will be applicable from 8 am to 9 pm, Monday to Saturday.
The imposition of the amended parking fee may be waived during public events in localities—such as weddings, funerals, religious gatherings, and similar occasions—upon consultation with the Zonal Task Force and the respective Dorbar Shnongs.
In High Demand Zones, the hourly parking fee for two-wheelers will be Rs 20 for the first hour and Rs 10 for every subsequent hour. For four-wheelers, the fee will be Rs 40 for the first hour and Rs 20 for each additional hour.
In Low Demand Zones, the parking fee for two-wheelers will be Rs 10 for the first hour and Rs 5 for every subsequent hour. For four-wheelers, the fee will be Rs 20 for the first hour and Rs 10 for each additional hour.
