Vehicle stickers

The Office of the East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police has requested auto rickshaw and local taxi owners from the district to produce valid documents in order to obtain vehicle stickers with allotted numbers. According to a statement, the stickers, priced at Rs 150 each, will be issued between October 6 and December 5. Owners or their representatives have been asked to submit originals along with photocopies of documents such as Registration Certificate, Permit, Insurance Certificate, Fitness Certificate, Trading License (for non-tribal owners), Professional Tax, Passenger Tax, MLMTU Certificate, Pollution Certificate, and a copy of EPIC/Aadhaar or any other valid ID proof. The statement further informed that failure to obtain stickers within the stipulated period will attract a late fee of Rs 500.

Cultural event

Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban, will organise a dance on folk song (solo, state-wise) and recitation competition (English language) as part of 15th Inter Shillong Cultural Event, 2025, from 1 pm on Sunday at Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School Auditorium, Shillong. Grant-in-Aid

The Meghalaya government has notified the Grant-in-Aid Scheme for the development of off-street parking infrastructure in the Greater Shillong Planning Area. The scheme was introduced with the objective of supporting the creation of organised parking facilities through financial assistance to eligible landowners. The notification comes into force with immediate effect and will remain valid until further orders.
