TURA, Aug 23: A complaint has been filed with the District School Education Officer (DSEO) in West Garo Hills, accusing the secretary of Rajabala Deficit Secondary School of not only illegally withholding a teacher’s salary but also demanding a bribe for its release and misappropriating other school funds.
The complaint was lodged against School Management Committee (SMC) secretary, Hadisul Islam, by assistant teacher, Mominul Islam Ahmed.
According to Ahmed, Islam demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from him to release his salary. He further alleged that Islam had earlier been involved in the misappropriation of school funds, for which both a magisterial inquiry and a special independent inquiry are currently under way.
Stating that Islam continues to misuse his authority despite the ongoing investigations, Ahmed urged the authorities to initiate strict disciplinary action against him and sought the immediate release of his pending salary for July.
