TEL AVIV, Sep 7: A Houthi drone from Yemen struck Israel’s Ramon Airport near Eilat on Sunday, breaching air defenses and briefly halting flights.
One man was lightly injured, and the airport quickly reopened. Israel said several drones were launched, with most intercepted, but one hit the terminal, shattering windows.
The Houthis claimed responsibility, days after Israel killed their prime minister in a strike on Sanaa.
The group warned of further attacks on “sensitive targets.” Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu vowed to press on with the Gaza City offensive, claiming over 100,000 Palestinians have evacuated—figures disputed by the UN.
Truce talks between Hamas and Israel remain stalled.
Hamas demands full troop withdrawal and prisoner exchanges.
On Sunday, Israeli strikes killed at least 13 Palestinians, including six children. Gaza’s Health Ministry reports over 64,000 dead and more than 162,000 wounded since the war began.(AP)
