SHILLONG, Sep 10: In a bid to bridge academics and real-world businesses, a one-day summit on entrepreneurship, E-Merge, was organised on Wednesday by the Department of Commerce, St. Anthony’s College, in collaboration with the St. Anthony’s College Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Incubation Cell (SACCEII).
The event was attended by Sohra MLA Gavin M. Mylliem as the chief guest, whilst Prof. Teidorlang Lyngdoh from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong delivered the keynote address.
Participants from ten colleges attended the summit and gained valuable insights from the experiences shared by entrepreneurs.
A panel discussion on the theme ‘Re-imagining the Role of Academia in Entrepreneurial Education’ featured panellists drawn from academia, policymakers and entrepreneurs, sparking engaging deliberations on strengthening entrepreneurial learning.
The summit also hosted an inter-college competition, ‘The Business in a Box’, designed to ignite and enhance students’ entrepreneurial skills.
Lady Keane College emerged as the winner, followed by Synod College in second place, while St. Anthony’s College secured the third position.
