Dak Adalat

A Divisional Level ‘Dak Adalat’ will be held in the office of the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Meghalaya Postal Division, Shillong, on September 19 at 11:30 am. The Dak Adalat will entertain grievances pertaining to Postal services for its redressal. Written complaints should reach the aforementioned office on or before September 18.

Holiday

September 18 has been declared as holiday for all banks and financial institutions under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, on account of ‘Unitarian Anniversary Day’ in East Khasi Hills, the Commissioner and Secretary, General Administration Department declared in a statement issued here on Thursday.

Traffic curbs

In view of the conduct of the 4th International Sohra Half Marathon scheduled on September 27, the roads from Mawkdok towards Sohra, Mawkma towards Shillong Sohra road, Laitmawsiang-Laitryngew road towards Shillong-Sohra road, Dainthlen junction, Khliehshnong, Sohra, towards Shillong-Sohra road, Laitkynsew-Sohra road via Mawmluh and Lad Sohbar-Sohra road will remain closed to all vehicular traffic from 5:00 am to 9:30 am, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, in-charge of Sohra Civil Sub-Division, said in a statement issued here. All travellers, tourists, and members of the general public intending to travel on September 27 were advised to plan their itinerary accordingly to avoid inconvenience. However, all emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire tenders, etc., are exempt.
