SHILLONG, Sep 26: As part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 campaign, the Indian Institute of Management Shillong undertook a cleaning drive, reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability and community welfare.
According to a statement here, the initiative focused on a local stream identified as a Cleanliness Targeted Unit (CTU), bringing together several institutions and organisations in a collaborative effort to rejuvenate the area.
Partners in the drive included Martin Luther Christian University, Operation Clean-up, Jiva Cares, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Shillong and Subham Charitable Association.
“This initiative reflects the power of collaboration in driving impactful change. Swachhata is not just a campaign—it is a way of life that we, as a community, must embody and promote,” an IIM Shillong representative said.
It may be mentioned that the drive aimed not only to tackle immediate environmental concerns but also to foster civic responsibility and ecological awareness among participants and the wider community.
“IIM Shillong continues to be at the forefront of sustainable development efforts, integrating environmental consciousness into its institutional ethos and encouraging action-driven engagement from students, faculty, and staff alike,” the statement said.
