EKH village celebrates Swachh Utsav

SHILLONG, Oct 3: Dympep village on Thursday hosted ‘Ki Dienjat ka Dympep’, a vibrant celebration of food, art, live music and indigenous games.
Organised by NEEPCO in collaboration with Pynche, the programme was attended by MLA Gavin Mylliem as the chief guest and Padma Shri Patricia Mukhim as the guest of honour, who inspired the community with their words of encouragement.
Celebrated under the theme of Swachh Utsav, the festival blended cultural pride with the message of sustainability, community well-being and collective responsibility towards a cleaner and greener future.
Some of the highlights of the day included clay art space, indigenous games, culinary and sculptor workshops, performances by Dympep LP/UP School students as well as a stirring live performance by renowned musician Lou Majaw.
Further, the ‘Seasoned by the Rains – Food Experience’ showcased local produce and sustainable food practices during the programme.
