Govt will look into call for med college in Jowai

SHILLONG, Oct 6: Health and Family Welfare Minister Wailadmiki Shylla on Monday said that the government will definitely look into and consider the aspirations to establish a medical college in Jowai.
Speaking to media persons, Shylla said that the government would also examine the feasibility of setting up medical colleges in other parts of the state.
“Though it requires substantial financial investment, we will consider and look into it,” Shylla said.
Meanwhile, regarding the Shillong Medical College, the minister informed that the third round of counselling is currently under way, while the Tura Medical College is still under construction.
