Shelter
A rainproof temporary pandal has been arranged at Madan Mawlynrei for candidates who are from the outskirts, participating in the Physical Endurance Training for recruitment as Agniveer in the Indian Army, to be held at GTC Happy Valley, Shillong, from October 14 to 17. Those that require shelter/accommodation can go to the Mawlynrei Playground from October 12, the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills said in a statement.
Committee
The Meghalaya government has constituted a Selection Committee which will recommend nominations to the post of the Chairman of Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB). The Chief Secretary is the Chairman of the committee, while Additional Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary/Commissioner and Secretary/Secretary to Personnel and AR Department; a representative of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (not below the rank of Director to the Government of India); expert member Nababrata Bhattacharjee; and a nominated member by the state government in the field of Environment will be the members.
Meeting
A ‘Good News Meeting’ will be organised by the Full Gospel Fellowship on October 11 and 12 at Golf Links in Shillong, where Vijay Benedict, former Bollywood playback singer from the 90s, will perform. The timings for the two day event are 4 pm on the first day, and 10 am, 1.30 pm and 5 pm on the second day.
Championship
The Meghalaya Bridge Association, Shillong, will organise the Meghalaya State Bridge Championship 2025 at Zenith Jubelieth Club, Laban, from October 24 to 26. Outstation teams from Karimganj, Silchar, Guwahati, Manipur and Digboi will also take part in the event.
