SHILLONG, Oct 9: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Thursday advised parents to take care of their children and not blame the government for any unfortunate incident involving minors.
He was reacting to the alleged murder of a seven-year-old boy from Nongrah whose body was recovered from Mawpat area on Thursday.
Terming the ‘murder’ as unfortunate, Tynsong said the body has been sent for postmortem.
“Though the report is awaited, it looks like a murder case. The police are on the job and we will have a breakthrough very soon,” he said.
Asked about the recurring incidents in Nongrah where a four-year-old girl child died last month, he asked the public not to blame the government.
“I feel we need to give proper education to parents and they need to take care of their kids,” he said.
Pointing out that while the government is trying to ensure safety of all citizens, he dismissed charges about lapses from the police.
