NPP begins selection of candidates for GHADC polls

SHILLONG, Oct 9: The National People’s Party (NPP) has initiated the candidate selection process for the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) elections scheduled to take place next year.
A notification from the party’s election committee informed that interested individuals may collect nomination forms starting October 10, 2025, from the NPP’s office at Hawakhana in Tura and from district offices in East, West, South, North, and South West Garo Hills.
The completed applications, carrying a non-refundable fee of ₹25,000, must be submitted between October 15 and November 14. Each submission is to be supported with documents including caste and educational certificates, EPIC, and Aadhaar card.
The NPP has designated Dr JD Sangma, Member-Secretary of the Election Committee, MN Marak, the party’s general secretary, and the district presidents and secretaries to accept and process the applications.
