SHILLONG, Oct 10: The three-day Autumn Flower Show 2025, organised by the Horticulture department at the State Central Library premises, drew large crowds of flower enthusiasts.
The event, which concluded on Friday, aimed to promote floriculture, support local flower growers and showcase Meghalaya’s rich floral diversity.
Visitors were treated to a colourful display of roses, dahlias, marigolds, lilies and several indigenous varieties cultivated across the state.
During the event, local nurseries also showcased and sold a wide range of plants, flowers and gardening essentials, drawing strong public interest.
The show featured competitions in various categories, including floral arrangements, cut flowers, potted plants, succulents, and table decorations with prizes and certificates awarded to the winners.
The department expressed hope that the flower show will encourage more citizens to embrace floriculture, both as a creative pursuit and a viable source of livelihood.
