SHILLONG, Oct 13: Two professors from Assam Don Bosco University — Prof KG Bhattacharyya and Prof Raja Chakraborty — have been listed in the latest 2% top scientists in the world published by Standford University.
Bhattacharyya, a Professor in the Department of Chemistry and NAAC Coordinator at Don Bosco University, is listed in the field of Environmental Sciences, while Prof Chakraborty, who is also the Principal of the Institute of Pharmacy at Don Bosco University, is listed in the field of Medicinal and Biomolecular Chemistry. It is pertinent to note that Prof Bhattacharyya has been listed among the top 2% Scientists in the world since the year 2020.
Commenting on this, Fr. (Dr) Jose Palely, Vice Chancellor, Assam Don Bosco University, said, “We are very proud of the achievement of two of our Professors. One of the main focuses of Assam Don Bosco University is socially relevant research and we are doing everything we can to establish this research environment here at the University, not only among our faculty and research scholars, but also among our graduate and post graduate students. We even have graduate students who have published papers at International level in their subject areas”.
Assam Don Bosco University is the first University in the private sector in Assam and also the first to have attained UGC 12B status, and the first to get NAAC ‘A’ Grade among private universities in Assam. The University opens admissions in MCA and MBA under its Centre for Distance and Online Education, approved by UGC-DEB.
