Police chase leads to seizure of stolen bike

SHILLONG, Oct 14: Police accidently stumbled upon a stolen bike on Monday night after a speeding motorcycle resisted checking at Mawryngkneng-Kynroh Maram that led to a chase.
The motorcycle, bearing registration number AS-01-FY-0871, was found abandoned at Mookyndur village in West Jaintia Hills.
A thorough search was conducted and four individuals namely, Kleston Gympad (32), Behelden Khyriem (20) besides two juveniles — all residents of Amlari Model, West Jaintia Hills, who were the receivers of the stolen motorcycle — were apprehended.
A tourist vehicle bearing registration number ML-04-D-4797 and the stolen motorcycle were seized.
In a statement, East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Vivek Syiem, said that the motorcycle was likely stolen from Guwahati Pan Bazar. Guwahati City police is expected to take custody of the accused.
