Shillong, Oct 16: Day 2 of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 plate group match between Meghalaya and Mizoram proved to be equally frustrating as the first for the players concerned as no play was possible for a second consecutive day.
Heavy rain over the preceding days left one section of ground close to the JN Stadium soggy.
Ground staff have been trying their level best to try and speed up the drying process. What has made this particularly challenging is that the dampness is not on the surface – which would evaporate easily or be dried with a super sopper – but is due to water that has penetrated the ground and caused the surface to become soft.
