3 Meghalayans in NE squad for BCCI women’s tourney

Shillong, Oct 22: The Senior Women’s Zonal Selection Committee for the North East Zone has selected a 15-member squad to represent the region at the BCCI’s Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Trophy 2025-26.
Three Meghalaya players – Riticia Nongbet, Debasmita Dutta and Solina Jaba – have been included in the squad, with Debasmita the team captain. The team manager, Baiahunlang Mylliemngap, is also from Meghalaya.
Meghalaya Cricket Association president Nababrata Bhattacharjee was the convener of the selection committee meeting, which was held in Guwahati on Tuesday.
The tournament will be held in Nagaland from 4-14.
Detailed deliberations were held, including verification of performance statistics in different BCCI senior women’s tournaments in 2024-25 and the ongoing 2025-25 seasons.
