MUMBAI, Oct 22: AI-related job postings in India surged to 11.7% in September 2025, up from 8.2% a year earlier, highlighting the rising demand for AI skills, according to a report by Indeed. India ranks among the top countries globally for AI job listings, second only to Singapore.
The tech sector leads AI opportunities, with 39% of data and analytics roles, 23% of software development jobs, and notable demand in insurance and scientific research sectors.
Engineering fields such as industrial, mechanical, and electrical also show growing AI requirements.
Despite a 0.8% overall decline in job postings for the sixth consecutive month, India’s formal workforce continues to expand amid an ongoing economic transition.
Employers are increasingly seeking professionals skilled in AI tools like data analytics and automation, though such expertise remains limited in the current talent pool, emphasizing the need for upskilling in the workforce. (PTI)
