SHILLONG, Nov 1: Mathrika Choudhury was crowned Miss Shillong 2025 at a dazzling evening held at the U Soso Tham Auditorium, as the Miss Shillong pageant witnessed a thrilling conclusion on Saturday.
After a fierce competition among 19 stunning participants, Mathrika took home the prestigious Miss Shillong 2025 title along with a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, in one of Shillong’s most celebrated events organised by the Fashion Society Shillong (FSS).
Similarly, Wandaphi Kharbamon was awarded the first runner-up position, receiving ₹75,000, while Jollyne Ancie Lyngdoh was placed as the second runner-up, winning a prize of ₹50,000. The third and fourth runners-up were Nimrat Ranhotra and Rimika Shylla respectively.
The top five contestants tackled the final question, which helped the judges select the top three finalists for Miss Shillong 2025.
Special titles were also awarded during the event. Jollyne Ancie Lyngdoh won the Viewer’s Choice title, determined by votes on The Shillong Times website, which was handed over by The Shillong Times Publisher Shobha Chadhuri, while Rimika Shylla took the Viewer’s Choice title on the Khasi news daily Mawphor website.
Additional awards included Miss Alluring Smile, awarded to Niha Hajong; Miss Talented to Wandaphi Kharbamon; Miss Sparkling Eyes to Isadelia Bareh; and Best Recycle Outfit to Bashika Warlaitthma. Similarly, Miss Tantalising Tresses went to Elizabeth Lyngdoh and Miss Silky Skin to Agnes Lyngdoh.
The competition took participants on a journey through four exciting rounds—Self-Introduction Presentation, Recycle Round, Wild West Round, and Silver Elegance Evening Gown—where they showcased their charm, poise and intellect, thereby captivating both the audience and judges.
Esteemed personalities present included Adviser to the Social Welfare department Paul Lyngdoh, Principal Secretary of Arts and Culture Frederick R. Kharkongor, and FSS president Adlous Mawlong.
The panel of five judges comprised Nitin Khera, Evarihun Warjri, Michelle Syiemlieh, Trebok Talang and Esha Chaudhuri.
