SHILLONG, Nov 3: The East Khasi Hills Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) on Monday intercepted a suspected drug-laden vehicle at Madanrting and seized heroin weighing 41.53 grams.
Acting on specific intelligence, the police stopped a vehicle bearing registration number ML 11 2937.
Upon conducting a search, the ANTF recovered four soap boxes containing heroin. Two persons identified as Noor Amin and Aftav Uddin of Silchar, Assam — occupants of the vehicle — have been arrested.
Police said that further investigation into the case is under way to trace the source and network behind the illegal consignment.
