SHILLONG, Nov 4: Meghalaya on Tuesday received the ‘DigiLocker Accelerator Award’ during the National DigiLocker Conference held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The award was presented by the Secretary of the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
It may be mentioned that the recognition was conferred on Meghalaya for the successful platform integration of ‘Meghalaya One’—a unified and integrated digital platform designed by the Meghalaya government to serve as a single point of access for all citizen-centric services and information—and ‘Unified Investment Portal–Invest Meghalaya’, which offers a seamless, centralised platform for real-time investment status tracking, approvals and clearances, with one-time payment integration through DigiLocker and EntityLocker.
More than 90 services are currently available on the Invest Meghalaya portal, with many more in the process of being onboarded, while 61 services have already been integrated through DigiLocker.
The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) under MeitY organised the DigiLocker/EntityLocker Conference, envisioned as a platform to bring together senior policymakers, regulators, representatives from states and union territories, industry leaders, academia and technology partners.
The deliberations focused on advancing the future of trusted digital document exchange in India and DigiLocker’s role as a cornerstone of citizen-centric governance and a vital component of India’s digital public infrastructure.
The conference also emphasised DigiLocker’s expanding applications in government services, education, fintech, and value-added services.
The Meghalaya government, through the Information Technology & Communication Department (IT&C), represented by Pravin Bakshi, Commissioner & Secretary of IT department, was also awarded the Dual Platform Achiever distinction for its successful integration with both DigiLocker and EntityLocker platforms of NeGD.
