Ryan Reynolds to star in live-action adaptation of Eloise
Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds is set to star in the live-action adaptation of Eloise alongside debutante Mae Schenk. The film, which has been in development since 2020, is based on the beloved children’s book about a mischievous young girl who lives on the ‘tippy-top floor’ of the iconic Plaza Hotel in New York City, as per the entertainment news outlet Variety. Though the plot hasn’t been revealed, Netflix has described it as a ’wholly original adventure’ based on 1950s the book series written by Kay Thompson which was illustrated by Hilary Knight. Schenk’s titular character Eloise will fight against Reynolds, who is playing an “original villainous character” in the movie, according to Netflix. (PTI)
Manish Malhotra’s debut production Gustaakh Ishq to release on Nov 28
Fashion designer Manish Malhotra’s debut production, led by Vijay Verma and Fatima Sana Sheikh, has been postponed to a later date this month. While the film was originally set to release in November 21, it has been postponed to a week later to November 28, Malhotra announced on his Instagram handle on Wednesday. Posting a video of Sheikh blowing air bubbles which reach Verma as he smiles, the new release date of the film was revealed. ‘Mark your calendars, ishq has a new date for y’all #GustaakhIshq is now releasing on 28th November, 2025,’ his caption read. Keanu Reeves to team up with Tim Miller for Shiver
Keanu Reeves is teaming up with Deadpool director Tim Miller for an upcoming science-fiction movie Shiver. Matthew Vaugh, known for the “Kingsman franchise’, will be producing the film for Marv Films along with Aaron Ryder, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ian Shorr has penned the script of Shiver, which has been described as having shades of Edge of Tomorrow as per the outlet. The Tom Cruise led sci-fi movie Edge of Tomorrow was about a soldier trapped in a time loop during an alien invasion. According to the outlet, while the movie’s plot is being kept under the wraps, it is said to be about a smuggler who finds himself in a tricky situation while on a job at the Caribbean Sea. (PTI)
Ariana Grande misses Wicked For Good world premiere in Brazil
Actress-singer Ariana Grande had to miss the world premiere of Jon M. Chu’s anticipated musical fantasy sequel Wicked For Good in Brazil. She was forced to cancel her trip to Sao Paulo, Brazil after a last-minute aircraft safety issue grounded her flight, reports ‘Variety’. “Brazil, I can’t believe this is happening and I am beyond devastated to be sending this message”, she wrote in an emotional Instagram post addressed to her fans on Tuesday morning (Pacific Standard Time). “A few hours ago, my team and I had to deplane our flight, as they had to do maintenance on the plane due to a safety issue and it will not be taking off until 1:00 am tomorrow”.
