TURA, Nov 9: Union Minister of State (MoS) for AYUSH Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav on Saturday expressed satisfaction with the performance of North Garo Hills district in implementing various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) during his official visit to the region.
The MoS, who also holds charge as Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, conducted an extensive review of flagship programmes and development initiatives under different departments.
His visit included an inspection of the Resubelpara Community Health Centre, including the Ayurveda & Homeopathy (AYUSH) OPD, MGNREGA worksites, and interactions with Village Health Councils and PMAY (G) beneficiaries.
Emphasising the importance of grassroots participation, Jadhav held detailed discussions with members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) to understand their entrepreneurial progress, challenges and the role of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) in empowering women and promoting financial independence.
During the review meeting with district officials, the MoS praised the dedication of the district administration and line departments for their consistent efforts in implementing central schemes despite difficult conditions.
He urged them to further strengthen service delivery, enhance digital connectivity for timely reporting and ensure complete saturation of flagship programmes such as the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Meanwhile, North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Saini, said that the MoS’s visit and guidance would provide new momentum to accelerate development initiatives in the district.
He iterated the administration’s commitment to improving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and enhancing efficiency in public service delivery.
The review covered several key sectors, including Health, Education, MGNREGA, PMAY (G), Aspirational Block Programme, Food & Civil Supplies, Soil & Water Conservation, Water Resources, Fisheries, Horticulture, Agriculture, PHE and PWD (Roads).
