JOWAI, Nov 15: A total of 300 students benefitted from the ‘1st Sniawbhalang Dhar Pathfinder Programme’, a free coaching initiative for SSLC students, which concluded on Friday during a function held at the Dorbar Hall, Wahïajer, West Jaiñtia Hills District.
The programme, conducted across three centres—Ummulong, Wahiajer and Moodop—saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, parents and village leaders.
The felicitation ceremony was chaired by NPYF president Damechwa Dhar, who is also the chairman of the Pathfinder Programme. As a gesture of appreciation, the top-three performers from each centre were recognised for their efforts and achievements. Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, who attended the event, urged students to cultivate hard work, confidence, discipline and purpose as they prepare for their SSLC examinations. He encouraged them to build a strong academic foundation to secure success in life.
Examination kits were distributed to all the students appearing for the upcoming SSLC examination. Teachers involved in the Pathfinder Programme were also felicitated for their commitment and contribution.
Additional speeches were delivered by Achiever’s Higher Secondary School headmaster Trippleson Muksor and Nartiang Wahiajer local MDC Reformi Lamare, both of whom commended the initiative for its positive impact on the community’s education sector.
The NPYF further announced that any student from the three centres who secures a top-10 rank in the SSLC examinations will be awarded a laptop.
