SHILLONG, Nov 28: The Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence Technology Hub (MATH), a premier innovation ecosystem located in T-Hub, Hyderabad, Telangana, has proposed the establishment of a Satellite Incubation Centre in Meghalaya.
It is pertinent to note that MATH focuses on accelerating startups and enterprises working in the domains of Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science. It serves as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) that nurtures innovation through mentorship, technical support, infrastructure access and industry linkages, helping startups scale and commercialise their AI-driven solutions.
Officials informed that the MATH, in collaboration with the IT&C Department, intends to establish an extended arm of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Artificial Intelligence in Meghalaya, which will require only a two-seater setup with a computer and desk.
Frequent discussions and meetings have already been held, and the next step is to organise a workshop in Meghalaya to reach out to local IT/ITES startups and other relevant stakeholders.
The collaboration aims to empower students and youths, including startups, by enhancing their knowledge, skills and opportunities in the field of AI. It seeks to build AI awareness, develop practical competencies, and create pathways for learning, innovation and career growth in emerging technologies.
A workshop titled ‘AI SPARK’ was also conducted last month in Shillong to explore opportunities for collaboration and to engage with local startups and innovators.
It was also informed that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MATH T-Hub and the IT&C Department will take place during the Regional AI Impact Conference scheduled to be held in December.
