RANCHI, Nov 29: The surface at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi is expected to offer a fair contest between bat and ball, though conditions traditionally lean slightly towards the batters. Pacers should find reasonable bounce and carry early on, while spinners are likely to gain greater influence as the match wears on.
Under lights, the track generally provides extra grip and turn for slow bowlers, but any advantage could be neutralised if dew sets in, making strokeplay easier for chasing sides later in the evening.
Ranchi’s air quality is forecast to remain poor on match day, with temperatures hovering around 22°C in the morning, according to AccuWeather. The mercury is expected to edge up to 23°C during the afternoon — coinciding with the start of play — amid heavy cloud cover of around 93 per cent. Conditions will turn noticeably cooler as the evening progresses, with temperatures dipping to 15°C and falling further to around 13°C at night. (Agencies)
