Cooch Behar Trophy

By Our Reporter

Shillong, Dec 8: A brilliant century by Gaurav Narleng powered Meghalaya to a strong first-day total of 312 all out against Nagaland in the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy Plate Group match at the MCA Ground on Monday.
Nagaland closed the day at 20/2, trailing by 292 runs.
Narleng struck a superb 127 off 129 balls, smashing 20 fours and two sixes, continuing his prolific season as one of the plate group’s top run-scorers. His knock rescued Meghalaya after an early slump at 20/3 and later 73/4. He was well supported by Angkit Tamang (52) and Rudra Singh Rathor (58).
Nagaland’s fielding woes, including several dropped catches, helped Meghalaya push past 300. In reply, the visitors stumbled early, losing both openers to Narleng and Mewankitbok Kharpuri before stumps.
