Immunisation
The Health department will observe National Immunisation Day under the Pulse Polio Programme on Monday in East Khasi Hills, which will be followed by two-day house-to-house search activities. All children below the age of 5 years will be administered oral polio drops. “All parents are requested to bring their children below the age of 5 years to the designated booths in their respective villages/localities for vaccination,” a statement in this regard said.
Public rally
The Khasi Jaintia Deficit School Teachers’ Association will organise a public rally at 10 am on Monday at Malki Football Ground, Shillong. According to a statement here, the purpose of the rally is to “discuss the pending issues of the deficit school teachers, to seek public support for the cause of the welfare of deficit teachers in particular and the cause of education in Meghalaya in general.”
Dry day
The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner (Excise) has declared December 25 as dry day in the entire district on account of Christmas. In this regard, all bonded warehouses, IMFL “OFF” & “ON” shops, homemade wine licensees, wine and beer licensees, home delivery licensees, canteens and outstills have been directed to remain closed on the aforesaid date.
