SHILLONG, Dec 17: The Voice of the People Party on Wednesday targeted the NPP-led MDA Government over what it described as selective criticism on development, accusing Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma of focusing on alleged shortcomings in opposition-held constituencies while ignoring the underdevelopment in constituencies represented by his own party.
“The Chief Minister, while being busy in criticising the opposition-held constituencies for the lack of development, forgets to look at his own backyard,” VPP spokesperson Batskhem Myrboh said.
He said VPP leader Ardent Basaiawmoit and other party leaders, during a tour of Garo Hills, found that roads were broken and in dilapidated condition in NPP constituencies.
“Therefore, he is a Chief Minister who is not serious about development but busy applying double standard speeches and behaviour,” Myrboh added.
