Markham Valley set for Rs 11.52 cr tourism infra boost

SHILLONG, Dec 20: Markham Valley, an emerging destination located in a remote part of Meghalaya that is fast gaining attention for its breathtaking scenery and untapped tourism potential, is set to receive a major infrastructure boost.
The Tourism department recently invited open tenders for the development of tourism infrastructure at Markham, with an estimated contract value of Rs 11.52 crore.
Located in the Eastern West Khasi Hills district, approximately 67 kilometres from Shillong, Markham Valley is an offbeat landscape offering serene, rolling green meadows, beautiful valleys and an occasional sea of clouds.
