TURA, Dec 22: Community Gender Health Activists (CGHAs) from Resubelpara, Bajengdoba and Kharkutta blocks of North Garo Hills benefitted from a three-day training programme on ‘Nutrition Education: Micronutrients and Complementary Feeding’ recently.
Organised by the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, College of Community Science (Central Agricultural University, Imphal), Tura, the event was sponsored by the North Garo Hills District Administration, Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS), Meghalaya Early Childhood Development Mission (MECDM), and the Government Innovation Lab (SCEP).
During the training programme, the participants gained practical skills to promote appropriate complementary feeding practices and improve child nutrition outcomes at the grassroots level.
A key component of the training involved eight hands-on practical sessions on the preparation of culturally acceptable, micronutrient-rich recipes using locally available foods.
