New Delhi, Dec 28: Australian batter Laura Harris etched her name into the record books on Sunday, equalling the fastest half-century in women’s T20 cricket with a breathtaking 15-ball fifty during the Women’s Super Smash in New Zealand.
The 35-year-old achieved the milestone while representing Otago in their clash against Canterbury at Molyneux Park in Alexandra. According to ESPNcricinfo, Harris became only the second woman to reach the landmark in 15 deliveries, drawing level with England’s Marie Kelly, who had set the record while playing for Warwickshire against Gloucestershire in 2022.Making her debut for Otago, Harris produced a blistering knock of 52 off just 17 balls, striking six fours and four sixes.
