TURA, Jan 13: The Dilma Adap – Ayushman Bharat Health & Wellness Centre was formally inaugurated today by Kharkutta MLA, Shri Rupert Momin, enhancing primary healthcare access for citizens of Dilma Adap and neighbouring villages under the Government of India’s Ayushman Bharat initiative.
The Dilma Adap – Ayushman Bharat HWC under Adokgre C&RD Block, North Garo Hills aims to deliver comprehensive primary healthcare including maternal and child health services, non-communicable disease screening, basic diagnostics, essential medicines, health promotion activities and tele-consultation facilities.
Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Kharkutta MLA, Shri Rupert Momin stated that the newly inaugurated sub-centre will significantly improve the overall health care of the people in the region. He noted that “women, children and the general public stand to benefit immensely from this facility” and urged the community to make full use of the services provided under the Centre.
Acknowledging the significance of the Sub Centre, MLA Rupert Momin added that the Centre will greatly benefit villagers, especially women, elderly and children who previously had to travel long distances for basic medical services.
Emphasising the importance of safe childbirth practices, the MLA appealed to women to opt for institutional deliveries to reduce maternal and infant health risks.
Speaking during the programme as Guest of Honour, North Garo Hills’ Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Abhishek Saini lauded the efforts of the Health Department for establishing a sub-centre in such a remote location of the district. He remarked that the initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to ensuring basic services such as health and education reach all citizens, including those in far-flung areas.
The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted that the facility will contribute significantly towards improving maternal and child health indicators and will serve as a vital healthcare support system for the region.
Earlier, dignitaries participated in the ceremonial ribbon cutting, followed by inspection of the facility and interaction with health personnel.
The programme was attended by Adokgre C&RD BDO, Shri Diganto Hajong; Dr Priya Sengse R. Sangma, DM&HO, North Garo Hills; Dr N.R. Marak, SDM&HO; Dr R.K. Sangma, DIO In-charge, North Garo Hills, among other medical officers and staff of the Health Department, besides community leaders and residents of Dilma Adap.
