SHILLONG, Feb 8: In Rajasthan’s shocking “honeymoon murder,” 23-year-old Anjali allegedly planned and executed the killing of her husband, Ashish Kumar, just three months after their wedding.
Anjali had first met 25-year-old Sanjay seven years ago and reconnected with him in 2024, eventually entering a relationship.
Despite her family arranging her marriage to Ashish in 2025, she continued contact with Sanjay and plotted the murder with him and two accomplices, Rohit and Badal.
On January 30, she lured Ashish for a walk, signaling the men who attacked him with sticks and strangled him using a muffler.
To make the attack appear like a robbery, Anjali handed over her earrings and Ashish’s phone while pretending to be unconscious.
The post-mortem confirmed severe head injuries and death by strangulation. All accused have been arrested, with Anjali sent to Bikaner Jail and the others remanded for five days. (Agencies)
