SHILLONG, Feb 10: An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale struck Shillong and others parts of the region on Tuesday evening, with its epicentre located close to the India–Bangladesh border.
According to official data, the tremor occurred at 5:02 pm on February 10 at a depth of 10 km. The tremor was felt in several parts of the Northeast, causing brief panic among residents. There were no report of any loss of life or damage to property.
