SHILLONG, Feb 14: Auditions for the upcoming editions of Miss Universe Meghalaya 2026 and Miss Teen Meghalaya 2026 will commence in March, spanning three major locations across the state.
The announcement was made during a media briefing at the Shillong Press Club.
During the media briefing, State Director Brian N. Wallang, while highlighting the organisation’s commitment to nurturing talent, stated that the platform aims to prepare contestants for both state and national stages, focusing on confidence, leadership and purpose. Successful candidates from both categories will eventually represent Meghalaya at Miss Universe India in Jaipur.
The selection tour is scheduled to begin in Tura on March 7, followed by Jowai on March 10 and concluding in Shillong on March 14. Walk-in registrations are set to open at 8 am at all designated venues. Participation in the Miss Universe category is open to women aged 18 and above, whilst the Miss Teen segment caters to aspirants aged 13 to 19.
A specific dress code has been mandated for the auditions—a white tank top with blue denim shorts for the first round and a short black bodycon dress for the second.
Speaking on the training aspect, Pageant Coach Laila Kharkongor said that selected contestants will undergo professional grooming starting in mid-April, covering ramp walk, communication skills and personality development.
She encouraged beginners to participate, noting that the programme focuses on holistic growth.
The season will conclude with the Grand Finale slated for May 1, 2026.
