Unclaimed bodies

One Lasting Marak, who was undergoing treatment at Shillong Civil Hospital and was reported to be homeless, passed away on February 11. According to the statement here, Lasting Marak, son of (L) Jameson Sangma, is a 31-year-old male, approximately 5.3 feet tall, with a dark complexion and medium build. He has an oval face and was wearing hospital pyjamas (gown) at the time. The body of the deceased has been kept at Shillong Civil Hospital morgue room for identification and claim. In this regard, all concerned have been asked to contact 0364-2224400 or 0364-2222214/2222215 for the same.

A body of a man was found lying at the Mahadev Khola Complex in Shillong on February 13, following which an inquest and other necessary formalities were conducted at the spot by the police. The deceased, whose identity is yet to be established, was later shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital, where a post-mortem examination was conducted. After the examination, the body has been kept in the hospital morgue room for identification and claim. According to the police, the deceased is approximately 60-65 years old, about 160 cm tall, with a swarthy complexion and a thin build. He had an oval face with a small moustache and beard (black and white) and was found wearing a brown leather jacket and a pair of black track pants. In this regard, all concerned have been asked to contact 0364-2548151 or 0364-2222214/2222215 for identification and claim.
