SHILLONG, March 2: The election committee of the Voice of the People Party (VPP) on Monday recommended Batskhem Myrboh’s name as the party candidate for the Lok Sabha bye-election to the vacant Shillong Parliamentary seat. The recommendation was made to the party’s state executive committee.
The by-election is being necessitated following the death of Ricky A.J. Syngkon on February 19.
With the recommendation now placed before the state executive committee, the final approval of the candidature rests with the party’s top decision-making body.
The date for the bye-election is yet to be officially notified.
