Lawsohtun win; Rain halts another match

Shillong, March 9: Lawsohtun defeated Cluster CC by 20 runs in the Late P.A. Sangma Memorial T20 Trophy 2026 organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, while another match between Sporting CC and MLP was abandoned due to rain.
In the first match, Lawshotun opted to bat after winning the toss and posted 139 all out in 20 overs, thanks largely to a strong knock of 67 runs from 45 balls by Klos Lyngdoh. Peter Lyngkhoi added an unbeaten 17 off 16 deliveries. For Cluster CC, Pankaj Chanda claimed two wickets for 18 runs in four overs, while Vishal Paul took one wicket for 11 runs in three overs.
Chasing the target, Cluster CC were bowled out for 119 in 18.4 overs. Md. Sammer top-scored with 30 runs, while Pankaj Chanda contributed 14 runs. Lawsohtun bowlers maintained steady pressure, with Klos Lyngdoh taking two wickets for 14 runs and Cavin picking up two wickets for 18 runs. Lyngdoh was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance of 67 runs and two wickets.
In another match, Sporting CC’s game against MLP was called off due to rain. After winning the toss, MLP elected to bat and were 70 for five in 11.3 overs when persistent rain forced officials to abandon the contest. Kumar Sewa remained unbeaten on 24 runs, while Alvin Bamon was not out on five. Before play was halted, Sporting CC bowlers had put up a disciplined display, with two bowlers taking two wickets each.
