Mendipather, March 12: The North Garo Hills District Yogasana Sports Association, with support from the Meghalaya Yogasana Sports Association and in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, organised a talent scouting programme on March 11 at Mendipather Secondary School in Mendipather, North Garo Hills.
The programme aimed to identify and encourage young talents in Yogasana from the district while promoting greater participation in the discipline at the grassroots level.
A total of 64 participants took part in the scouting event, showcasing their skills and potential in various Yogasana techniques as organisers and officials assessed their performances.Officials associated with the programme said such initiatives are vital for discovering promising athletes at an early stage and nurturing them through proper coaching and exposure to competitive platforms. They noted that Yogasana has steadily gained recognition as a competitive sport across the country.
