Curfew extended in WGH till March 15

TURA, March 13: The West Garo Hills district administration has extended the curfew imposed across the entire district till 6 am of March 13 in view of the prevailing law and order situation and recent incidents of violence and disturbance of public peace reported from various parts of the district.
According to an order issued by District Magistrate Vibhor Aggarwal, the curfew will remain in force from 6 am of March 14 until 6 am of March 15, unless withdrawn earlier.
During the curfew period, no person shall move outside their residence within the limits of West Garo Hills district.
However, in order to facilitate public movement and enable residents to attend to essential activities, the administration has granted curfew relaxation from 9 am to 3 pm on March 14 across the district.
All law enforcement agencies, Executive Magistrates, and police officers in the district have been directed to strictly enforce the curfew order and take necessary action against anyone found violating it.
The order further states that any violation will attract penal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and other relevant provisions of law.
The administration has appealed to the public to cooperate with authorities and adhere strictly to the guidelines to ensure the maintenance of peace, safety, and public order in the district.
